# Compliance deduction

Also called Retailer fines

A penalty a retailer deducts for breaking its supplier requirements, such as late delivery, incorrect labeling or a missing advance ship notice.

Large retailers publish detailed vendor compliance guides and deduct fines automatically when shipments fall short. Each fine is small, but they add up quickly across many orders.

Many can be disputed with the right evidence, such as shipping records, appointment confirmations or advance ship notice timestamps, if it's submitted within the retailer's dispute window.
