Agentic AI
AI that works toward a goal over several steps, deciding what to do, using tools and checking results, rather than producing a single response.
Generative AI writes an answer when asked. Agentic AI acts: it can read a customer email, look up the account in the ERP, decide a reply is needed, draft it and record what it did.
In finance, that independence needs boundaries: clear procedures, permissions limited to what the task needs, human approval for sensitive actions, and a record of every decision.
