Customer master data
The core record for each customer in the ERP: legal entity, billing and remit-to addresses, contacts, payment terms, tax details and credit limit.
Many order-to-cash errors trace back to master data. An outdated billing contact sends invoices to nobody, a missing PO requirement gets invoices rejected, and mismatched payment terms produce arguments about due dates.
Master data drifts as customers reorganize, change AP teams or move to new portals, so it needs maintaining continuously, not just at onboarding.
