Invoice dispute
A customer's objection to an invoice, for example to its price, quantity, terms or delivery, that holds up payment until it's resolved.
Disputes are one of the main reasons invoices go past due, and many surface late: the customer stays quiet until a collector follows up, then raises the issue.
Resolving them quickly depends on evidence and ownership: the contract, the PO, proof of delivery and the correspondence, and a clear owner in sales, operations or billing who can make the call.
